These are picts I took with my sister of my little niece...isn't she sweet!

She made a challenging model, would not smile for the life of us...

but finally got swept away in the fun and yours truly got to get some

great snaps of the little sweetie ; ) I loooooves her ; )

Fun In The Hay!

Who would have thought hay could be so fun! A few friends

and I took to the fields to take part in a contest working

with hay! It was a lot of fun...after that we went for a

hard earned dinner of East Indian food....mmmmm ; )

Commission For A Client

A commission of a customer's two cute babies and their dog...It was a

pleasure to work on this project. A true joy! Enjoy!

Chrysalis

On a road trip to Devon...caught a glimpse of lovely cocoons...

some were actually moving and hatching! I liked how they 

looked like little emerald jewels....

Ahhh a trip to the mountains

My head was tired of the city...so my mom and 

I decided to go to the mountains...

It reminded me why a person should leave the city 

more then they normally do...

A smell of fresh air, beautiful scenery and a dose 

of nature, always good for the soul...

Where does the time go?

In between deadlines and daily meetings, I have witnessed how 

fast the months fly by. It feels like just last month it was Christmas...

So on that note I have to buckle down and work on my new body of 

work for 2010. To see how little I painted in 2009 is a sad little 

reminder of how fast the time flies on you. I am sure we can all relate...

Making time to create!

Seems like November is just whizzing by! Between taking time to

make a fun trip to Banff/Calgary this weekend with friends to meeting deadlines, it's already November 19! ack!

So I am making some time to work on a painting I started in October that I put away...

I had been unsure if I liked it, but will work on it more and see if it decides to come around ; )

Ah... Back in the Studio!

So this has been a crazy Summer and Fall...a great crazy though...lots of fantastic projects
and great opportunities...its comforting now that the days are shorter, and I can hunker
down into my studio and get hard at work...experimenting, spending time exploring...

News News

Friday at last..what a long week : )
Just realized I have two kids books on the go, fun Graphic Design work, a comission for a painting, as well as some community art projects that are a go! YAY!
It feels so wonderful to be busy, a true blessing ; )

Tomorrow is get-up-early-and-rake the yard sort of day...I can't wait to get me hands in the soil and smell the rain...
Bugsy is getting a little stir-crazy herself...maybe I'll let her out on her leash...time to dust off the ol' garden shoes and put on my sun hat...Spring is here ; )

All things in time

It's funny how a person will start a piece of work, paint away on it for hours, then come from it not too sure if they like it or not...This is what happened to me with this sketch...I was working away on it...truly enjoying the journey, then thought it was done... Now that I have brought it into my living room and had a look at it, I'm not too sure anymore. It's times like this that I start to think I'm not an artist, not any good...then I 'm reminded that the piece is still too close to me and I need to stand back and breathe...
Thanks what I'm going to do for now...breathe ; )
